How are Dallas Mavericks fans dealing with the trade of their superstar guard Luka Doncic? 

Well, some are taking mourning to another level. 

Going through it was an understatement for a group of fans that was spotted at American Airlines Center in Dallas hosting a funeral, or perhaps a protest, after one of the most shocking trades in professional sports history.

Yes, it was a funeral as several fans, dressed in black suits, carried a blue coffin to the steps in front of the arena, where Doncic shirts, jerseys and more were spread out.

"Why?!" one of the men carrying the coffin screamed into the area while Wiz Khalifa’s "See You Again" played over a speaker, per Dallas News.

Mavericks fans may not be going to the extreme as this group did on Sunday, but many are still in shock, and even denial, after the trade went down late Saturday night. 

The trade sent Doncic and Maxi Kleber to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a draft pick. The Utah Jazz were also involved in the deal. 

The NBA world could not believe Doncic, the five-time All-Star who was named Western Conference Finals MVP last season during the team’s Finals run while leading the NBA in scoring (33.9 points), was traded by the franchise who took him third overall in 2018. At just 25 years old, Doncic remains one of the key pieces of the game’s future. 

Even Doncic appeared slighted by the trade after writing a farewell note to Mavericks fans just hours after the trade, which some believed was a fake on social media when reports dropped, became official. 

He did not mention the team’s name at all – only showing love to the fan base. 

"Seven years ago, I came here as a teenager to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the highest level," Doncic wrote. "I thought I’d spend my career here and I wanted so badly to bring you a championship. The love and support you all have given me is more than I could have ever dreamed of. For a young kid from Slovenia coming to the U.S. for the first time, you made North Texas feel like home.

"In good times and bad, from injuries to the NBA Finals, your support never changed. Thank you not only for sharing my joy in our best memories, but also lifting met up when I needed it most.

"To all the organizations I’ve worked with throughout the Dallas community, thank you for letting me contribute to your important work and join you in bringing light to those who need it. As I start the next part of my basketball journey, I am leaving a city that will always feel like a home away from home.

"Dallas is a special place, and Mavs fans are special fans.

"Thank you, from the bottom of my heart."

Reaction to the trade was immense when it went down, and Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, who is preparing for potential NFL history this week at Super Bowl LIX, had time to share his "sick" thoughts about it. 

"Wait what? I’m sick rn…." Mahomes, a Texas native who was spotted at this past season’s NBA Finals rooting for the Mavericks, wrote on X.

Doncic has not played for Dallas since Christmas after exiting the game with a strained left calf. With the trade, he is now prevented from signing a five-year supermax contract extension that would have been worth $345 million. He can, however, sign an extension with a maximum payout of $230 million. 

Mavericks GM Nico Harrison spoke about the trade on Sunday, with his mindset about this shocking trade being a win-now move. Additionally, with the contract looming, Harrison made a judgment call that could alter the franchise – for better or for worse.

"There’s other teams that were loading up," he explained. "He was going to be able to make his own decision at some point of whether he wants to be here or not, whether we want to supermax him or not, or whether he wants to opt out. We had to take all that into consideration and I feel like we got out in front of what could have been a tumultuous summer."

Dallas, without Doncic, dynamic guard Kyrie Irving and Davis not yet in uniform, was embarrassed by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night, 144-101, on the road. 

The Mavericks are 26-24 on the season, which is good for ninth in the Western Conference.

Just over half of the NBA season has passed, and Commissioner Adam Silver's search for ways to improve the league appears in full swing.

This week, Silver floated a drastic rule change for the length of quarters during NBA games.

The NBA plays 12-minute quarters. If the NBA were to adopt a Silver proposal, those periods would be reduced by two minutes. Ten-minute quarters would take eight minutes off the game clock.

Silver noted that the reduction could create a more "consistent" presentation for basketball fans who watch games on TV.

"I am a fan of four, 10-minute quarters," Silver told "The Dan Patrick Show" when asked about the more drastic ideas the NBA has considered.

"I'm not sure that many others are ... putting aside what it means for records and things like that. I think that a two-hour format for a game is more consistent with modern television habits. People in arenas aren't asking us to shorten the game, but ... as a television program, Olympic basketball is two hours. College basketball is 40 minutes."

At one point, Silver cited the length of games played in other leagues around the world. 

"The NBA is the only (basketball) league that plays 48 minutes. ... It's such a dramatic change to the game. … Something like that would have to be talked more about over time."

During the Summer Olympics, basketball games last 40 minutes. College basketball games in the U.S. are divided into 20-minute halves.

"Because this game is so global, one of the things we'd like to see over time is creating a more consistent set of rules globally around the game," Silver said.

Silver noted that shaving two minutes off quarters could reduce the wear and tear on players over a 82-game season, while potentially helping the league combat its "load management" issue.

"Incidentally, if you went to a 40-minute game — with the issues around load management and resting — it would be the equivalent of … taking like 15 games off the season," Silver said.

Silver made it clear the ideas he mentioned during the exchange with Patrick had merely been discussed, but they are nowhere near being adopted. 

"It's not quite at that level," he said.

Silver also praised Major League Baseball for adding a pitch clock. He argued the change helped "speed up the game," while also keeping traditional aspects of the game in place.

"I'm a baseball fan, and I think some of those changes have really increased sort of the engagement … the entertainment value of the game, and so I'm paying a lot of attention to that," Silver said. 

"And, in fact, I've used the pitch clock … in meetings at the NBA to say … we shouldn't be afraid to look at changes."

California authorities arrested Tom Welling on the suspicion of drunk driving early Sunday morning.

The "Smallville" star was arrested at an Arby's by a Yreka police officer, Fox News Digital can confirm. He was then processed into custody by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office around 2 a.m. local time.

Welling was released around 7 a.m. on Sunday after being charged with a misdemeanor citation. The actor is scheduled to appear in court on March 11.

Welling is most known for his role in "Smallville," which premiered in 2001. The actor portrayed Superman and the series focused on the superhero's beginnings.

The actor was joined by a handful of famous co-stars for The CW series, including Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack, Kristin Kruek and Justin Hartley.

Welling shared a series of photos of his wife, who he married in 2019. Welling and Jessica share two sons.

The Kansas City Chiefs once again saw confetti falling in their favor in a crucial game, as they won the AFC Championship for the third straight season to give themselves a chance at Super Bowl history in New Orleans next month. 

On the other sideline, the Buffalo Bills were gutted when they saw Samaje Perine run for the first down necessary to seal the 32-29 victory. 

After the game, quarterback Josh Allen let his feelings out when asked about his emotions following yet another loss to the Chiefs in the postseason.

"It’s just not fun," he said after letting out a sigh. "But to be the champs, you got to beat the champs, and we didn’t do it tonight."

Allen is now 0-4 against the Chiefs in the postseason, so the regular season victory over Kansas City at the Bills' Highmark Stadium does not matter in the end for this squad or its quarterback. 

However, the ball was in Allen’s hands to change that winless streak late in the fourth quarter. However, with the two-minute warning and fourth-and-5 on the scoreboard, the Chiefs dialed up the perfect pressure, and Allen launched a prayer downfield to tight end Dalton Kincaid.

It hit his arms but went incomplete. Then, with the Bills down three points, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs knew a couple of first downs equaled another Super Bowl trip. 

"They gave a good look," Allen said when asked what he saw before that fourth-down snap. "Didn’t see anything in my first cadence. They were sliding left, the corner came…yeah."

There was not much else Allen could say just minutes after falling just short again at the Bills’ first trip to the Super Bowl since 1993. However, Mahomes was classy after the game, giving kudos to Allen during his speech while hoisting the AFC title trophy. 

"I have so much respect for Josh, man," he said to CBS Sports’ Jim Nantz. "He’s a true competitor, a true warrior, a great football player. They always come down to the wire. Luckily, we were on the winning side this time. I’m excited to get down to New Orleans. Let’s go make history."

The Bills wanted to be looking at one more game to hopefully give the franchise its first-ever Super Bowl – they infamously lost four straight from 1990-93 – but they will have to go back to the drawing board with the offseason starting to see if they can change that in 2025. 

Allen could be getting a massive personal accolade, as he is an MVP finalist and expected to be a frontrunner alongside Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson for their work during the 2024 campaign. 

However, Allen will say he does not care about individual achievements right now. His Bills lost, again at the hands of the Chiefs, and they will have months to stew over it before a new season begins.

"You can either get it done, or you can’t. We didn’t get it done," Allen said.

Earlier this week, a young collector pulled the coveted autographed MLB debut patch card of Paul Skenes from the market. 

An 11-year-old collector from Southern California, who nabbed a one-of-kind baseball card featuring the Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher, decided to turn down a trade offer from the MLB franchise.

The card was featured in the 2024 Topps Chrome Update set. On Friday, the trading card and collectible manufacturer confirmed the collector had "chosen to send the card to auction with @FanaticsCollect instead," Topps wrote in an Instagram post.

The Pirates offered a package of perks in exchange for the card. A pair of premium Pirates season tickets for three decades, an opportunity to play a softball game on the field, a meet and greet with Skenes and autographed jerseys were among offerings from the team.

LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, who is dating Skenes, also offered an incentive to the owner of the card.

"Let's raise the stakes…the person who finds this card can sit with me at a Pirates game in my suite," Dunne wrote in a post to her Instagram story.

While the collector wrote in a journal entry shared by Topps that nabbing the card was a "dream come true," apparently that dream did not include spending time over the next 30 years attending games at PNC Park.

The Pirates admitted they were "bummed" after learning of the collector's decision but offered to have the fan at a game sometime during the 2025 season.

"Well…we’re bummed that we won’t be seeing you behind home plate for 30 seasons. But we’d still love to bring you to Pittsburgh for a special day at PNC Park this season," the team posted on X.

Fanatics Collect, which will handle the auctioning of the card in March, said it will donate its proceeds from the sale to fire relief funds in the Los Angeles area.

Skenes delivered a season to remember in 2024, finishing 11-3 with a 1.96 ERA and 170 strikeouts. Before winning the National League Rookie of the Year Award, he was named to the MLB All-Star team. Skenes was the top pick in the 2023 MLB Draft and made his big league debut in May 2024. 

Rookies have worn MLB debut patches on their jerseys since 2023. Topps acquired the patches and created the unique cards. The card could hold pretty high value considering the potentially bright future ahead for the 22-year-old, who finished third in NL Cy Young Award voting.

Skenes said over the weekend he hasn’t thought about the potential of signing a long-term contract to remain with the Pirates, saying instead his focus is on helping the Pirates take a step toward contending in 2025. He is eligible for free agency after the 2029 season.

American boxer Devin Haney took aim at Sylvester Stallone over the actor's recent commentary on the current state of boxing.

Stallone, a three-time Academy Award nominee, received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Philadelphia boxer Rocky Balboa in the film franchise. 

A video recently surfaced on social media showing Stallone holding the gloves he wore in the mid-1970s during the filming of the original sports drama movie. At one point during the video, Stallone suggested the gloves were identical to what professional boxers used in the '70s.

April's upset defeat to Ryan Garcia marked Haney's most recent appearance in a professional bout.

Haney, known as "The Dream," eventually pursued legal recourse against Garcia after learning Garcia failed multiple drug tests ahead of the bout.

Officials overturned Garcia's victory and ruled the fight a no-contest.

A four-minute audio recording was disclosed by federal prosecutors Thursday that shows Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, allegedly attempting to push through a six-figure wire transfer from one of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ star’s accounts by impersonating him. 

Mizuhara has been convicted of defrauding Ohtani, the National League MVP and world baseball superstar, and the recording, obtained by The Athletic from the Department of Justice, is a key piece of evidence. 

It was mentioned in a court filing, which also had prosecutors recommending a nearly five-year sentence for Mizuhara and an order to repay Ohtani, according to The Athletic.

Mizuhara, who is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 6, pleaded guilty to bank fraud and filing a false tax return after stealing almost $17 million from Ohtani, who he was best friends with for years, in June 2024. 

The recording was obtained from a bank, assistant U.S. attorney Jeff Mitchell told The Athletic, and it supports prosecutors’ claims that Mizuhara would call banks to arrange wire transfers. 

Prosecutors added that the recording was edited to redact bank names and the name of an "unindicated co-conspirator."

FORMER SHOHEI OHTANI INTERPRETER PLEADS GUILTY TO CHARGES IN SPORTS BETTING CASE

In the recording, Mizuhara clearly states his name is Ohtani after the bank agent asks, "Who am I speaking with?" Mizuhara bypassed the bank’s security measures and changed Ohtani’s account information to include his own email and phone number.

So, when the bank agent asks Mizuhara to perform a two-factor authentication using a six-digit code sent to a phone number, he can do so because it’s going to his phone instead of Ohtani’s. 

The recording shows Mizuhara matching the numbers, which allows the agent to work on his request, a car loan for $200,000.

"Now recently, we’ve come across a trend of fraud and scams, so we have been monitoring the online transactions closely to make sure our clients are not the victim of either," the agent says first. "What is the reason for this transaction?"

Then, the agent asks "Ohtani" what his relationship to the payee is, to which Mizuhara says, "He’s my friend."

"Have you met your friend in person"" the agent responds. 

"Yes, many times," Mizuhara answered. 

Mizuhara said he stole from Ohtani to cover "major gambling debt," which he said in a brief statement after pleading guilty. 

"I went ahead and wired money … with his bank account," Mizuhara said in the statement at the time. 

Prosecutors asked that the restitution amount bet set at nearly $17 million for Ohtani, though it was noted Mizuhara is unable to pay that back to the All-Star. Another $1.1 million in restitution is being sought by the IRS.

The ex-interpreter’s winning bets totaled over $142 million, which he deposited into his own bank account and not Ohtani’s. His losing bets were around $183 million. He did not bet on baseball.

There is also no indication Ohtani bet on baseball. 

The Athletic reported the court filing says that, between December 2021 and January 2024, Mizuhara placed around 19,000 bets online through Matthew Bowyer, his bookie who also pleaded guilty to running an illegal gambling business in August 2024.

Mizuhara’s debt was up to $40.7 million. 

"His years-long theft of funds from Mr. Ohtani and the myriad lies he told to Mr. Ohtani’s agents and financial advisors to cover up his theft represent a calculated betrayal of the very person he was hired to help," Mitchell wrote in the court filing. 

"To summarize how I’m feeling right now, I’m just beyond shocked," Ohtani said in a statement on the matter last year. "It’s really hard to verbalize how I’m feeling at this point.

"I’m very saddened and shocked that someone who I trusted has done this."

Tempers flared during a high school basketball game in Georgia this month. The heated moment appeared to spark a physical altercation between players from opposing teams. 

TMZ reported that the fight in question happened during a game between Sonoraville High School and Rockmart High School on Jan. 3 in Calhoun, Georgia. Calhoun is located approximately 70 miles from downtown Atlanta.

A video posted to social media appeared to show an unidentified Rockmart player shoving one of Sonoraville's athletes to the ground. The Rockmart athlete then immediately hit the Sonoraville player in the face immediately after he regained his footing.

The Rockmart player was later seen punching a separate player from the opposing team.

The second Sonoraville player was hit after he dashed toward the scuffle. Spectators in the crowd could be heard making noises as they reacted to the situation. The video also showed some individuals moving from the stands to the court area to intervene.

An incident report from the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office suggested a Rockmart player was provoked by the repeated use of a racial slur by the player from the opposing team.

The teenager who appeared to initiate physical contact during the incident faces two charges of simple battery, per the police report. The brawl broke out during the third quarter of the game.

Officials from Rockmart High School and Sonoraville High School have yet to offer public comment on the incident.

Bill Belichick has already been on the recruiting trail, but it’s officially official that he’s North Carolina’s next head football coach after he signed his contract. 

And it’s a contract with eye-popping numbers. 

The Tar Heels released Belichick’s deal, which continues through the end of 2029, Thursday. The 72-year-old will be making $10 million per season, though his official base salary is $1 million.

The other $9 million will be coming from what is described as "supplemental income."

Belichick, the six-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, immediately becomes one of the top 10 highest-paid head coaches in college football. Seven coaches made $10 million or more in 2024, according to USA Today. 

The highest-paid coach in the country is Georgia’s Kirby Smart at over $13 million per season. Clemson’s Dabo Swinney ($11.13 million), Texas’ Steve Sarkisian ($10.6 million), USC’s Lincoln Riley ($10.043 million) and Ohio State’s Ryan Day ($10.021 million), fresh off a national championship win, round out the top five.

Like many other contracts, Belichick's has incentives that would trigger massive paydays if they’re met, including a $750,000 bonus if the Tar Heels reach the College Football Playoff. If they win a national title, Belichick would receive a $1.75 million bonus. 

Other incentives include a $150,000 bonus for reaching a bowl game as well as a $350,000 bonus if the team makes an "elite" non-playoff bowl. Those would include the Pop-Tarts Bowl, Gator Bowl, Duke’s Mayo Bowl and a few others. 

Finally, a top 25 ranking at the end of the regular season would also trigger a $250,000 bonus for Belichick. And he'd like get his $350,000 bonus for an elite bowl game if the Tar Heels finish in the Top 25.

There is also confirmation that Belichick does have a buyout clause, which was widely reported as North Carolina’s stipulation if he were to leave for a job in the NFL. If Belichick leaves UNC before June 1, the university is owed $10 million. After June 1, the buyout drops to $1 million. 

However, despite multiple NFL teams reportedly reaching out to Belichick, he said during his introductory press conference he's in Chapel Hill to stay. 

He’s already showing his commitment to the program by hitting the road and talking to recruits as he aims to build a playoff roster through the new NIL system.

The Buckeyes are back on top, as Ohio State took down Notre Dame, 34-23, to win the College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Monday night. 

Ohio State has now won nine college football titles, tying them with USC for fourth-most ever among NCAA's officially recognized championships. 

This is also the first title since the 2014 season, which was the inaugural College Football Playoff.

The Buckeyes have been such a different team since losing to Michigan in their rivalry game. And after convincingly defeating Tennessee (42-17), Oregon in the Rose Bowl (41-21), and Texas in the Cotton Bowl (28-14), Ohio State used their high-octane offense to barrel its way past Notre Dame to win it all. 

But this game wasn’t like previous Ohio State wins during this playoff, as the Fighting Irish really made a statement on an opening drive that lasted 18 plays and killed over nine minutes of first quarter clock. 

And it was all thanks to the hard work by quarterback Riley Leonard and the Notre Dame offensive line.

Leonard ran nine times for 34 yards and scored after picking up a fourth-and-1 on Ohio State’s five-yard line. ESPN even reported that Leonard ran to the sideline, threw up and stumbled a bit before sitting on the bench. He also appeared to tell teammates that he landed on the ball on one of the runs, which could’ve caused the upset stomach. 

However, the tides of momentum quickly shifted to the Ohio State sideline, as Will Howard and his group of talented weapons didn't just respond, but took over when they had the ball in their hands. 

The ensuing drive went 11 plays and 75 yards, as freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith capped the drive with a perfect play call that saw him act like he was running behind Howard on pre-snap motion but planting in the ground and walking into the end zone with no one in sight. 

Ryan Day’s group not only tied the game, but the defense turned it up a notch as they forced back-to-back three-and-outs on Notre Dame’s second and third drive. And the Buckeyes’ offense used that to their advantage with two more touchdown drives before the end of the first half. 

Quinshon Judkins, the explosive running back that splits time with TreVeyon Henderson, scored both of those touchdowns, the first of which being a nine-yard run where he fought through multiple tackles to get across the line. Then, he was wide open in the end zone on a rolling throw by Howard with 27 seconds left in the second quarter to put the Buckeyes up 21-7. 

And if that wasn’t deflating enough, Judkins scored his third touchdown of the night on the first drive of the second half – a one-yard run that was set up by his 70-yard run on the second play of the half to immediately get the Buckeyes first-and-goal. 

Judkins finished the game with 100 rushing yards on just 11 carries as well as his two catches for 21 yards.

There was some concern for Ohio State, though, when Notre Dame cut it to a two-score game after Leonard found Jaden Greathouse for a 34-yard touchdown and converted the two-point try to make it 31-15.

The concern was due to an Emeka Egbuka fumble after going 24 yards on a catch-and-run. It was the first Ohio State fumble since their game against Penn State on Nov. 2. 

Notre Dame used that turnover to drive downfield, and Leonard found himself knocking on the doorstep until an incomplete pass to Greathouse made it fourth-and-goal from Ohio State’s nine-yard line with 9:27 left to play in the game. 

Given the score, one would think head coach Marcus Freeman wanted to try his luck at another touchdown, but kicker Mitch Jeter and the special teams unit ran out onto the field. And the interesting play call backfired, as Jeter’s 27-yard field goal attempt ran off the left goal post – he hooked it. 

The game wasn't over entirely after the defense forced a punt, and Leonard was able to find Greathouse once again, this time on a beautifully thrown ball and an even better catch from 30 yards out. Needing another two-point conversion, Jordan Faison took a handoff and it looked like Ohio State sniffed it out, but he threw it to Beaux Collins for the successful try. 

Now a one-score game, the Buckeyes had to dig deep with the Fighting Irish knowing a stop gave them a chance to make the comeback complete. 

Backed up with third-and-11, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly called a gutsy deep pass from Howard to Smith, and despite the freshman not having a single reception in the second half, he secured the dagger – a 57-yard catch to place the Buckeyes on the nine-yard line at the two-minute warning. 

The Buckeyes could run out the clock at that point with the Fighting Irish using all of their timeouts, and the celebrating ensued.

In the box score, Leonard was 20-for-29 for 240 yards with two touchdowns, while also rushing for a team-high 40 yards on 17 carries with his score on the ground. Greathouse had 11 yards on five receptions as well. 

For the Buckeyes, Smith led the way with his 89 yards on five receptions, while Egbuka had six catches for 64 yards. Howard finished the game 17-of-21 for 231 yards, and he also rushed for 57 yards on 16 carries.

Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport slammed TikTok as a "dirty" and "biased" platform as the video app went dark for U.S. users over the weekend.

Rapaport's video was posted before the app shut off due to its ties to the Chinese Communist government via parent company ByteDance. Congress passed a law last year that forced TikTok to be sold to an American company or be banned in the U.S. with a deadline of Jan. 19.

"You did it yourself, TikTok, TikTok-ers," Rapaport said as he launched into his rant. "You can say what you want about Elon Musk. You can say what you want about Zuckerberg. At least we have a face. At least we have people to complain to. We can tweet at them. We can DM them. We could put our face on wax and scream and yell at them."

However, TikTok service was reinstated for U.S. users on Sunday after going dark for roughly 12 hours. 

Before TikTok quit working, a message shared on the app stated that President Trump had indicated he would work with the Chinese-owned company for a "solution" to the national security issue. In his rant, Rapaport pointed out that it's unclear who exactly is the face behind the video app.

"Say what you want about Facebook, Instagram, X, WhatsApp, Snapchat," Rapaport continued. "At least we know who's running the joint. We don't know what the f--- and who the f--- is doing what at TikTok and the vile antisemitic, anti-Jewish, anti-Israel soft p--- … bye, bye TikTok."

Rapaport is an avid TikTok user, with his account boasting 4.5 million followers.

The "True Romance" star recently went viral after posting a rant about California Gov. Gavin Newsom's handling of the Los Angeles fires.

Rapaport slammed "Gavin with the good hair Newsom" for talking about "Trump-proofing" California when he should have been focused on "fire-proofing" the state.

"You’re talking about Trump this, Trump that. He’s not even president," the 54-year-old said in a video he posted to Instagram on Jan. 14 about the Southern California fires, which destroyed thousands of homes and businesses.

"Get the f--- out of here!" he said of Newsom. "'We’ll do better next time. We need to learn from our mistakes,'" he mocked.

"You’re not running for sixth-grade class president," he added. "Them days are over." 

"What a good old boy you turned out to be, you little bulls--- artist," Rapaport said.

The Chicago Bears have landed arguably the hottest head coach candidate for their vacancy, as Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is reportedly heading to the NFC North rival. 

ESPN's Adam Schefter was first to report the hire, noting that the Las Vegas Raiders were hot on Johnson's tail as well. 

Johnson, who led a Lions offense that scored 33.2 points per game to lead the NFL this past regular season, saw an anticlimactic end to a historic season in the team's Divisional Round loss to the Washington Commanders at home this past weekend.

Jason Aldean is ready for President Donald Trump's new "era" of politics.

Aldean, who is set to sing a 30-minute set at the Liberty Ball following Trump's inauguration, opened up about the "big day for our country."

"The last few years have been... kind of really divisive and just a lot of stuff going on, and I just hope this is kind of the beginning of a new era for our country and kind of get back on track," the country music star said during an appearance on "CBS Mornings."

Aldean noted that he does "worry" about the state of the country right now, especially as a parent. However, the musician believes that Donald Trump wants to do "great things" in this new era.

"I think the thing with President Trump is, I think he wants to do great things for the American people and the country," Aldean said. "And he's a guy that I feel like when he says something, he tries to get it done.

"He's not just telling you. You know, I feel like a lot of times politicians will just tell you things — just to make it sound good. And I feel like he's a guy that actually wants to go get it done."

Aldean hasn't always been vocal about his political stance, but has publicly supported Trump throughout the years. The country music star liked how Trump "didn't talk like a politician."

"He wasn't that guy. He was a guy that kind of spoke my language and just kind of… put it in layman's terms for me a little bit," he explained on the morning show.

Aldean is a supporter of speaking your mind. He previously faced backlash for his song "Try That in a Small Town," which was well-received by his fanbase, in 2023 after the music video went viral. The song was deemed by some to be pro-violence and pro-gun due to the lyrics and the music video featuring clips from riots along with footage of people burning an American flag.

"People are kind of scared to say something a lot of times out of fear or losing a job or losing friends," the "You Make it Easy" singer previously told Fox News Digital. "Maybe they're not going to get work again or whatever it is. People tend to hop on the side that's just politically correct, and it may be politically correct, but it's not right. Like, it's just not, you know what I'm saying?"

Aldean explained that "Try That In a Small Town," like all of his records, was a way for him to express his feelings creatively. 

"I can't go grab my phone, go on Instagram and go off on an almost 30-minute rant about how I feel about all these things," he said. "It's like I do that through music, and that's what it is, and obviously it's struck a chord out there with a lot of people that felt the same way and the song did well."

The Chicago Bears relieved Matt Eberflus of his head coaching duties in November, just one day after he received considerable blame for mismanaging the clock in a 23-20 loss to the Detroit Lions. 

Eberflus' nearly three-year tenure in the Windy City was marred by a flurry of last-second losses and ended with a six-game losing streak. Thomas Brown became interim head coach.

The Bears are now searching for the franchise's next head coach and have already interviewed several candidates, keeping in line with general manager Ryan Poles' previous vow to cast a wide net during the search. 

But, according to a new report from ESPN, one of the ways the team explored filling its head coaching vacancy involved the acquisition of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin via a trade.

The Bears recently contacted the Steelers to inquire about potentially gaining permission to speak to and possibly execute a trade for the Super Bowl-winning coach, according to the report. The Steelers rejected the request, sources told ESPN.

Conversations are not believed to have reached Tomlin, who recently responded to questions about potential trade offers from other teams with a simple message: "Save your time." Tomlin's contract reportedly includes a no-trade clause.

The Steelers finished the regular season with a 10-7 record, which maintained Tomlin's distinction of never having a record below .500. However, the team ended its season on a four-game losing streak. 

Pittsburgh then got knocked out of the playoffs by the Baltimore Ravens in the wild-card round. It has now been eight years since the Steelers have won a playoff game.

Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is believed to be one of the most sought after candidates this hiring cycle. Earlier this week, the Bears announced they interviewed Johnson. 

They also interviewed Arthur Smith, Brian Flores, Mike McCarthy, former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and several others.

Despite ending the season with a 5-12 record, Chicago's roster does have talent at key positions. The Bears' next head coach will be tasked with developing quarterback Caleb Williams, the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The coaching staff will also have the opportunity to work with wide receivers Rome Odunze and DJ Moore. 

Elsewhere, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is a two-time Pro Bowler, and Jaylon Johnson is a talented cornerback.

While the New England Patriots filled their head coaching vacancy in short order by hiring Mike Vrabel, the Bears, Jets, Saints, Jaguars and Raiders continue their respective searches.

Shields posted a selfie with Travis Kelce's mom as Taylor Swift arrived at Arrowhead Stadium.

Kelce's mom typically sits in the NFL star's suite along with Swift and the pop star's family.

Kelce, who hosts the "New Heights" podcast with brother Jason Kelce, revealed in an interview how his family has handled the fame his relationship with Swift has brought.

"Everyone’s loving it. Mama Kelce is having so much fun," he said during an appearance on "CBS Mornings" in September. "I think my dad is slowly getting more comfortable with it, and Jason has always been a pro at it."

Swift has been actively supporting Kelce at his home games, showing up to Arrowhead Stadium often. For his part, the NFL star spent the off-season traveling Europe watching Swift perform on her record-breaking tour.

Kelce and Swift debuted their relationship at a Sept. 24, 2023, Kansas City Chiefs game. The two met that July and had quietly hung out, establishing their relationship before taking it public.

Since then, he's become familiar with being called the pop star's arm candy.

Justin Baldoni sued Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for civil extortion, defamation and other actions in a lawsuit filed Thursday.

Baldoni accused Lively of tormenting him, his family and colleagues in a lawsuit filed in the Southern District of New York and obtained by Fox News Digital. The actor requested a jury trial and a judgment of $400,000,000.

Lively sued Baldoni first for sexual harassment after the two starred together in the Colleen Hoover-adapted film, "It Ends With Us." Since the premiere of the movie in August, Lively has also accused Baldoni of participating in a deliberate smear campaign to ruin her reputation.

However, Baldoni – along with Wayfarer Studios, Jamey Heath and others – paint a different story in the actor's own lawsuit.

"Heartbreakingly, a film that Baldoni envisioned years ago would honor the survivors of domestic violence by telling their story, with the lofty goal of making a positive impact in the world, has now been overshadowed beyond recognition solely as a result of Lively’s actions and cruelty."

Baldoni's legal team claimed Lively has no evidence of a deliberate smear campaign and instead worked to repair her reputation by accusing the actor and others of sexual harassment.

"When she and Reynolds could not force Baldoni and Wayfarer to read a statement she and her representatives prepared, extorting them to ‘take accountability’ in defense of Lively’s actions, she lay in wait for months, preparing to publicly attack Baldoni by falsely claiming that he had sexually harassed her."

Baldoni's legal team included text messages, emails and more as "untampered evidence" backing up the "Jane the Virgin" star's claims.

"This lawsuit is a legal action based on an overwhelming amount of untampered evidence detailing Blake Lively and her team’s duplicitous attempt to destroy Justin Baldoni, his team and their respective companies by disseminating grossly edited, unsubstantiated, new and doctored information to the media," Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "It is clear based on our own all out willingness to provide all complete text messages, emails, video footage and other documentary evidence that was shared between the parties in real time, that this is a battle she will not win and will certainly regret. Blake Lively was either severely misled by her team or intentionally and knowingly misrepresented the truth."

"Ms. Lively will never again be allowed to continue to exploit actual victims of real harassment solely for her personal reputation gain at the expense of those without power," the statement continued. "Let’s not forget, Ms. Lively and her team attempted to bulldoze reputations and livelihoods for heinously selfish reasons through their own dangerous manipulation of the media before even taking any actual legal action. We know the truth, and now the public does too. Justin and his team have nothing to hide, documents do not lie."

A representative for Lively and Reynolds did not return Fox News Digital's immediate request for comment.

Lively detailed allegations of sexual harassment, retaliation, intentional affliction of emotional distress, negligence and more made by Baldoni and film producer Jamey Heath in a complaint first filed with the California Civil Rights department and later in federal court.

According to the complaint, obtained by Fox News Digital, the actress convened an "all hands" meeting on Jan. 4, 2024, regarding the alleged behavior of Baldoni and Heath, a meeting which her husband, Reynolds, attended.

"Ms. Lively was forced to address concerns about Mr. Baldoni and Mr. Heath's misconduct with them directly, and began doing so months before filming began," the complaint reads. "The concerns she raised were not only for herself, but for the other female cast and crew, some of whom had also spoken up."

Following Lively's lawsuit, Baldoni also sued The New York Times for defamation.

However, Lively's team noted her allegations are "backed by concrete facts."

"This is not a ‘feud’ arising from ‘creative differences’ or a ‘he said/she said’ situation," her lawyers told Fox News Digital. "As alleged in Ms. Lively’s complaint, and as we will prove in litigation, Wayfarer [Studios] and its associates engaged in unlawful, retaliatory astroturfing against Ms. Lively for simply trying to protect herself and others on a film set. And their response to the lawsuit has been to launch more attacks against Ms. Lively since her filing."

Justine Bateman is calling for Gov. Gavin Newsom and other Los Angeles officials to be removed from office.

The actress insisted Newsom be removed after sharing a video of the California governor saying he wants to work with President-elect Donald Trump on fighting the fires.

"I really want other CA voters to see the lack of sincerity, the dismissiveness, the dedication to pretentiousness, and the dereliction of care for the citizens of California," Bateman wrote on X. 

"He has always demonstrated this. In every video. You cannot trust this kind of person with any role, and especially not one upon which our wellbeing depends," she added. "Gavin Newsom needs to be removed, before something worse happens here."

She also called for LA Mayor Karen Bass to be removed, writing, "Her irresponsibility and apathy towards the people of Los Angeles is reprehensible. Leaving the country days after being notified of weather conditions that everyone who lives in LA knows are prime disaster fire conditions is unforgivable. This on top of her knowing that efforts to mitigate maximum damage had not been done at all. We cannot wait for another calamitous demonstration of her ineptitude. She must be removed."

Bateman, known for her role on "Family Ties," has been outspoken regarding her views since the fires began. The filmmaker continues to share her criticism on social media and appeared on Fox News' "Jesse Watters Primetime."

"I'm pretty pissed, and I think a lot of people in Los Angeles are pissed," Bateman said on Jan. 9.

"If you are going to run a city or run a state, you have to take care of the basics, and that's to make sure that your fire and your police department are well-funded," she added.

Bateman explained the importance of "rehearsed" planning in order to minimize the consequences of natural disasters. The actress noted Los Angeles' current leadership was "incapable" of planning for these major events.

"If you can't cover the basics, get out of our city. You are useless to us. You are a liability, and you have destroyed people's lives because you didn't do your job," she said. 

"You didn't do what you were hired for. You didn't do what we pay you for." Bateman called for the officials to "resign out of shame and responsibility for the people whose lives you've destroyed right now."

The LA Fires began Jan. 7 with the Palisades Fire. Fierce Santa Ana winds have been largely blamed for turning the fires sparked last week into infernos that leveled entire neighborhoods around the nation's second-largest city, where there has been no significant rainfall in more than eight months.

The Southern California fires remain hard to control amid the current high winds, but firefighters are making progress and the fires have not spread very much over the past couple of days.

Altogether, the fires in the Los Angeles area have burned roughly 63.5 square miles (164 square kilometers) and damaged or destroyed more than 12,000 structures, leaving 24 dead.

Brooke Shields admitted she lived in "agony" over her late mother's alocholism.

Shields opened up about her relationship with her mom, Teri Shields, in her memoir, "Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed To Get Old." Teri passed away in October 2012 after a long illness due to dementia.

"My mom always billed herself as someone who was non-judgmental – she really hung her hat on that – but that's not how she came across to me," Shields wrote in her memoir, according to Daily Mail. "I always felt like I was going to be in trouble for something, or that I was wrong, and I was often waiting for the other shoe to drop. This is a consequence of being raised by an alcoholic."

"Mom's alcoholism was a constant source of agony for me, and I was always a little skittish and on edge," she continued. "Work, even if I knew both the industry and public opinion to be fickle, felt stable in the sense that when you were on set, the space was contained and there were rules by which you had to abide. You and your schedule were always accounted for. That was freeing in a way."

However, her relationship with her late mom was "complicated."

"And yet the pull to her was so strong," she added. "A magnetic field surrounded her, and even when I knew better, I was always pulled back in. Love is a very powerful motivator."

Shields' relationship with her mother and her career were explored in the documentary "Pretty Baby," which premiered in 2023.

The film focused largely on the controversies that occurred while she acted and modeled at a young age.

Boxing star Tyson Fury said Monday he is retiring from the sport following a loss to Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch last month.

It was not clear why Fury mentioned Turpin. The Englishman was an 18th century highway robber and horse thief.

"The Gypsy King" suffered back-to-back defeats against Usyk. He lost via split decision back on May 18 and then lost via unanimous decision on Dec. 21. Both fights took place in Saudi Arabia. Fury lost multiple heavyweight championships in his initial loss to Usyk.

Fury’s last win came against Francis Ngannou via split decision.

If this is truly it for Fury, he will retire with a 34-2-1 record with 24 knockouts. The Usyk losses were the only two blemishes on his record. The draw came against Deontay Wilder in 2018.

He previously announced his retirement before his 34th birthday in August 2022 and was back in the ring two months later. 

Frank Warren, a boxing promoter who worked with Fury, told BBC he did not speak with Fury before his retirement.

"If that's what he wants to do, that’s great. He’s done everything he can do. Probably been the best British heavyweight of his generation by far," Warren told BBC radio. "Two-time world champion, two closely fought fights against Usyk. He’s got plenty of money, got his wits about him, got a lovely family."

Boxing fans were hoping Fury would be able to finally fight Anthony Joshua in a battle of two of Britain’s best fighters of this generation. However, at least for now, that will not happen.
