A debate over the program for skilled foreign workers has pitted immigration hard-liners against some of President Trump’s most influential supporters in the tech industry.

Mr. Musk has fallen out with prominent right-wing Americans who say they are worried that their agenda may be sidelined in favor of his own — and that he is willing to silence them on X.

He said in an interview that he had used the visas for skilled workers “many times.” But he has mainly used visas for unskilled workers like housekeepers.
